Friday 3rd December - Update

Christmas Productions

You should have now received your confirmation letter outlining the spaces you have booked for the Christmas Productions. Thank you for your patience whilst we organised this, as you can imagine it is a mammoth task to make it fair for everyone, and to keep it Covid secure.

The staff have worked incredibly hard putting the performances together and making sure that they are as Covid secure as possible. I am extremely grateful that we are able to go ahead with “live” Christmas productions, this is certainly not the case in all schools! Obviously, if there are any positive cases in school during the next week, we may have to cancel productions at short notice. I appreciate your support and understanding in this matter.

To keep everyone safe, there are strict Covid guidelines to follow for each of the performances. Please adhere to the following rules:

  • Keep socially distanced

  • Wear a mask (if you are exempt, you will be asked to wear a visor)

  • Sanitise your hands on arrival

  • Complete a lateral flow test before attending

  • Have your temperature taken on arrival

  • Do not bring small children or babies

  • Do not attend if you have not booked

  • If you have cold like symptoms, please do not attend.

This guidance is to keep everyone as safe as possible and will be enforced.

Please note that photography and filming will not be permitted during the performances, for safeguarding reasons.

Christmas Dinner

A text was sent out yesterday asking if your child would like a school Christmas Dinner. There will be no alternative hot meals on Christmas dinner days.

Reception and Key Stage 1 will have their Christmas Dinner on Tuesday 14th December. On this day Ks2 will only have the option of a sandwich bag from school or to bring in their own lunch box from home.

Key Stage 2 will have their Christmas Dinner on Wednesday 15th December. On this day Reception and KS1 will only have the option of a sandwich bag from school or to bring in their own lunch box from home.

Please reply to the text by Tuesday to book your child’s Christmas dinner.

The Christmas Menu can be found here.

Parking

Can I remind parents that you should not be using the school car parks for dropping off or collecting children.

On Tuesday, a staff member’s car was damaged and hit. Unfortunately, nobody has owned up to causing the damage. As you can imagine this is very distressing for the staff. Therefore, please do not use the school car park at any point during the school day. Thank you for your cooperation in this matter.

Covid Awareness

As you may have heard on the news that there is a new Covid variant - Omicron - in the country.

The Department of Education released new guidance for schools following the announcement from the Prime Minister.

Staff are required to wear masks in communal areas around school. All visitors into school will also be required to wear masks.

Staff will continue to test themselves, using a lateral flow test twice a week, and we encourage you to continue testing regularly.

Any close contacts of the Omicron variant will need to isolate for 10 days, regardless of vaccination status.

You would be informed if you are a close contact of the Omicron variant by test and trace.

Sanitisation and deep clean regimes will remain in place.

We currently do not have any positive cases in school, so can we all be extra vigilant when on school grounds to keep us all safe and wear a mask where possible. Many thanks

Diary Dates

A gentle reminder that school breaks up for Christmas on Friday 17th December at 1pm.

The Spring Term starts on TUESDAY 4th January 2022.

On the last day of term, children are welcome to wear their Christmas Jumpers to school.

Thank you for your continued support, I look forward to seeing many of you next week at the productions.

Stay safe … and help keep others safe
