Covid Update
As I am sure you have heard, East Staffordshire (and particularly Burton) is well above the national average for positive Covid cases in schools. The local authority has asked us to review our Covid risk assessment and precautions, and reintroduce bubbles and restrict parents into if appropriate.
Winshill Village Primary and Nursery School is still relatively Covid free. For this reason, I am not changing the risk assessment at the moment, but I will do if we experience an increase in cases. Therefore, please be prepared that events may change at the last minute.
Please note that if your child tests positive, you will be asked to keep their siblings at home too, until they have a negative PCR test. We have a number of events in school, please adhere to the Covid rules that are outlined. I would also really appreciate it, if more parents could wear masks on the playground at the end of the day. Many thanks for your support with this matter.
PTA Meeting
Following lockdown and the pandemic I am keen to get the PTA up and running again. Although we can’t do the usual Bingo Nights or the traditional Christmas Fair, I am sure that a lot of you will have creative ideas on how we can raise money for the school, in a Covid secure way. Therefore, I am proposing a meeting for Tuesday 12th October at 9am. If you can spare a couple of hours to help organise some activities, please pop along. If you have lots of good ideas that you would like to share, then again, pop along. As usual, if you plan to attend the meeting can you adhere to the following:
Wear a mask in school
Remain socially distanced
Do not bring any young children or babies
Sanitise your hands on arrival
Allow us to record your attendance for test and trace purposes
Let school know if you plan to attend
Complete a lateral flow test before arriving.
Many thanks for your cooperation, I look forward to seeing some of you there!
Thank you for your continued support.
Stay safe … and help keep others safe
