Residential Payments
For those children who are going on the Year 5/6 residential, please pay your balance by half term. If we owe you a refund, this will be paid back to you by the end of June. Many thanks for your support in this matter.
Kathy in the Kitchen
Just to let you know that next week will be Kathy’s last week cooking at Winshill Village Primary and Nursery School, she is moving on to pastures new. We wish her well in her new job and thank her for all her hard work in the kitchen. She has been particularly fantastic during the pandemic, making up food hampers and adapting the menu for bubbles. Thanks Kathy, best wishes.

Optimism by Naomi Welsh
Let the good times outshine the bad times
Let the laughter drown out the tears
Let the light chase away the darkness including all your fears...
Turn your pain into strength and smile for you are alive, making all things possible but only possible if you try.
Covid Road Map
The Prime Minister has outlined the next stage of the Covid Road Map, which is due to start on Monday. This is great news and another step towards “getting back to normal”. There will be a loosening up of some of the Covid restrictions in school too, but these won’t start until after half term. I will therefore, share the plans with you nearer the time, so for the moment, please continue adhering to the current school Covid restrictions. Thank you for your continued support in this.
It goes without saying, that if transmission increases again, then we will halt any loosening of restrictions and we will reimplement the stricter rules. Please remember to maintain social distancing on the playground and wear a mask around school, if possible. Again, changes to the rules will be shared with you, just before half term, until then, we continue as we are.
Fundraiser
As I mentioned last week, Seren Grace (in Year 3) is running 26 miles throughout May to raise money for the Brain Tumour Research Charity. She is running for “someone special” from the Winshill Village community. I am delighted to say that she has already ran over 16 miles and has raised over £600 so far. Well done Seren, we are very proud of you. If you would like to donate to the charity and support Seren, you can donate via Parent Pay. Thank you for your generosity so far.
Stay safe … and help keep others safe
