Frequently Asked Questions

Dear Parents,

I hope this finds you all safe and well.

Today, school would have broken up for half term if it had been a “normal” year, however this year, we are busier than ever. School will continue to be open next week to support the children of keyworkers (except Bank Holiday Monday).

Staff are in school busy preparing their classrooms ready for when Reception, Year 1 and Year 6 return on the 1st June and Nursery starts on 8th June.

We are very excited to see the children, however school fully supports whatever decisions parents make about attendance at school this term. It is okay to change your mind, although it is very important that you inform school, so that staffing and “social bubbles” can be organised.

If your child is not attending school, work will still be uploaded on to the website and the class teacher will still be in contact. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help.

Can I reiterate that it is parents’ choice whether children attend school in June or July or not? It has come to my attention that some parents have received unkind comments on social media, questioning their choice to send their children to school. In the current situation, it is more important than ever, that we are kind and supportive of one another.

I have received lots of questions regarding school opening. Please read the ‘Freqently Asked Questions’ and my answers here. If you have any further questions please do not hesitate to get in contact.

For those parents of Nursery, Reception, Y1 and Y6 who are undecided about their children returning on 1st June (8th June for Nursery) you will be contacted by the class teacher in the next couple of days. Final decisions will need to be made by Monday.

The next possible starting point will be 22nd June - when (hopefully) more children will be invited in. We are being strict on when children can return to school as this has a huge impact on staffing and organising social bubbles. Please bear with us.

I know some of you are worried about how your child will cope with all the changes. However, there are more things that have stayed the same, than have changed. Children are very resilient and they will be fine, we will guide them every step of the way. There will be photos of the school uploaded onto the website in the next couple of days, please show them to your children so that they know what to expect.

Take care of yourselves and stay safe.
