Reception home learning Thursday 28th January 2021

Hi, well I can’t believe it is Thursday already. You have been so busy and I love to see all the work you are doing. There is some amazing learning going on this week. Look out for the gallery of work being uploaded tomorrow. Don’t forget to email if you have any concerns or questions.

Phonics:

  • Sing the Jolly phonics songs and join in with the actions!

  • Practise orally blending the sounds to make words (L-igh-t light), (s-igh-t, sight) and (N-igh-t night)

  • Can you segment (chop up the sounds in the words fight, tight, right and might? Write the words onto a phoneme frame or use letter cards.

  • Play picnic on pluto on phonics play (Log in jan21 password home)

  • Look at these pictures and match the correct word to each one.

  • Write a caption for this picture.

Literacy:

  • Can you write a word to match these pictures? You can make the words using phoneme cards made from cut up cereal boxes if you prefer.

  • Choose 3 of the words to write into a simple sentence.

Here is our Maths Key Vocabulary Glossary for Reception. This can also be found on our Class Page under the Maths Heading. The glossary will outline the key vocabulary we use in our year group as well as providing a definition and example for each

Topic: People who help us:

  • Make your own doctors bag. Here are some things you could cut out or draw to go in the bag. You could even stick on a real plaster or pieces of cotton wool.

Physical development:

  • Join in with the activities on our January Active Calendar.January Active Calendar

  • Or try a cosmic kids peace out superhero meditation for a calm 10 minutes.

 

ICT:

Story:

  • Listen to the story about going to the dentist.
