Reception home learning Wednesday 27th January 2021
Welcome to Wednesday. I hope you are keeping well and being kind to your family. Remember to try and fill a bucket today. We fill up other people’s imaginary buckets by being kind and doing good things for one another.
Phonics:
Review all the phase 3 sounds learnt so far on Phonics play flashcard speed trials. ( you should be able to choose the sounds we have looked at so far Select the ‘pick individual graphemes icon’.. If you need a log in for this site it is jan21 with password home.
Join in with the phase 3 tricky word song! Pay special attention to ‘they’ and ‘all’
Play a game of tricky word pairs. Make 2 sets of tricky word cards using the words he, she, we, me, be, you, was, my, they and all. Take it in turns to turn 2 cards over and say the word on them. If they are the same keep them, if not turn them back over.
Read this simple sentence with the tricky word they in it.
Literacy:
Play a game of tricky word pong! Stick tricky words onto tin cans or paper cups (Use the orange and purple ones from the link). Bounce a ping pong ball into a cup and say the tricky word on it.
Read your reading books and find tricky words in them.
Maths:
Here is our Maths Key Vocabulary Glossary for Reception. This can also be found on our Class Page under the Maths Heading. The glossary will outline the key vocabulary we use in our year group as well as providing a definition and example for each
Wednesday’s maths lesson with Oak National Academy.
Order a set of number cards 1-10 (or 15, 20)
Select a number card and then a 1 more/ 1 less card. Can they say the number 1 more or 1 less without having to look at their ordered numbers to help them?
Topic: people who help us:
Think about the work that a dentist does to help us to look after our teeth. Can you make a poster about all the things we could do to look after our whole body. Watch this video for some ideas.
Physical development:
Join in with Joe Wicks for his Wednesday morning workout!
Or try a cosmic kids zen den for a calm 10 minutes.
ICT:
Play this museum of 10 game to help learn number bonds to 10.
Story:
Listen to Biff and Chip going to the doctors story on you tube.
