Year 3 - Summer Activities
Year 3 I am not sure how it has happened but we have come to the end of the school year and what a year it has been. I am incredibly proud of each and everyone of you for the positive attitude and hard work you have shown during this difficult time. I know it has not been easy for any of you but we are now reaching the other side of the rainbow ready for a new beginning in September.
This is not how I imagined our time together coming to an end and it makes me incredibly sad that I will not see some of you again until September when you will be in Year 4. I want to take this opportunity to say it has been a privilege to be your teacher for the last two years and to be a part of your learning journeys. Everyone of you has enriched my life in so many different ways. I will miss your positive attitudes, your enthusiasm for learning, your sense of humors, your hard work and your determination to succeed. I could go on but it would make the blog too long :) I know that you will carry this through into Year 4 and beyond and continue to make me proud. Please remember I am only next door if you need anything or if you just want to visit for a chat.
I also want to thank your families for the support they have given both you and me whilst in my class. It has proven invaluable in your successes throughout Year 2 and 3.
Here are some suggestions for activities to keep you busy during the holidays - remember you do not have to complete them all.
Summer Reading Challenge - The children in school have discussed this in their bubble and Mrs Claxton has uploaded more information onto the website.
Have a picnic - if it’s raining outside you could have it indoors.
Create a scavenger hunt - write clues for people to follow. What treasure will you hide?
Build a den - this could be inside using blankets or outside using natural materials.
Read a book in a strange place - maybe you could take a photo to show me in September.
Rock painting.
Plant some seeds in the garden.
Go for a walk or a bike ride.
Help an adult make dinner.
Bake a cake.
Write a letter to someone you haven’t seen for a while.
Create an obstacle course in your garden.
Play in a paddling pool.
Fly a kite.
Have a pyjama day.
Have a movie night.
I have also included some Maths, English and transition booklets that the children may like to have a go at during the holiday.
Have a fabulous holiday Year 3, you deserve it. I will see you all in Spetember.
