Summer Reading Challenges and Newsletter
Summer Reading Challenges
This summer we have some super reading challenges for you to achieve. Why not keep a reading diary or journal, recording all of the books, magazines, comics and online material that you read over the summer? You could write a mini book review or give a star rating and recommend books to your friends. It will be brilliant to share your reading with your teachers in September.
Take a look at the reading adventure map - where will reading take you this summer? Keep a list of all the places you go or print off the map and tick them as you go along.
Burton library have shared this year’s summer reading challenge. This year, the challenge will be completed online not at the library. Just go to the website www.sillysquad.org.uk to join in. There are a wide range of children’s e-books, e-audio books and e-comics that can be downloaded free from the library catalogue at https://www.staffordshire.gov.uk/Libraries/Library-services/eLibrary/eLibrary.aspx using your library card and PIN. If you don’t have these or have lost them, you can call 0300 111 8000 and we will help you get new ones. From 6th July you will be able to ‘order and collect’ books from Burton Library. The link below will provide you with more information.
