Year 2 Home Learning - Week Beginning 04.05.2020
Hello Year 2!
Another week has flown by and it has been six weeks since I last saw you all! I also cannot believe that we are in May already!
I have loved speaking to a few of you again on the phone this week. You all sound incredibly busy and I am so glad to hear you are all working hard!
The online showcase is looking amazing! Thank you to everybody who has been sending in their pictures I have loved looking at them again. Seren, as always you have been so busy, your estimating and time work looks great! I also love that you have been making decorations for the tree outside the care home, I am sure they will really cheer up the residents. Isaac, you have been working so hard on your multiplication and division maths problems, well done! Amelia, I love your clock, that will really help with learning to tell the time. Also James, thank you so much for sending you beach story across to me, I love reading it and you got me completely hooked! It was great that you used all of the phrases and sentence openers within your writing and created atmosphere with your great description, well done!
Thank you also to Seren for sending me a message this week, hopefully I have put enough work on this week to keep you busy. Also a big thank you to Roxy for the card you sent to me at school, it was beautiful and it really made me smile!
Next Friday is a bank holiday and will be the 75th anniversary of VE day. Could you complete some research on VE day? Find out what it is and why it was such an important day. You could write an information leaflet or fact sheet all about what you find out.
As well as the work I have put below maybe this week you could have a go at some of the lessons on BBC Bitesize, as well as Maths and English there are also other curriculum lessons you could have a look at. The Oak Academy are also providing a variety of free online lessons you could have a look at. You could also continue to use the White Rose Maths online Maths lessons.
I have attached a number of different activities for you to have a go at below. Remember you do not need to print them they could be done on a separate piece of paper and looked at from a screen. There are some Maths, Reading and Writing activities for you to have a go at and I have also attached some science experiments, an art challenge and a list of 100 different exciting indoor activities you could have a go at. It would be great if you can try one each day and send your photos to show me on the online showcase.
My challenge to you this week is to create a Jar full of things you are looking forward to after lockdown. There is a link below with instructions on how to make one.
Remember you do not need to complete all of these activities, have a go at what you can. There are plenty of different activities to keep you busy throughout the week.
If you have any questions remember you can send me a message through the website and I will get back to you as soon as I can.
I look forward to seeing you all soon.
Keep smiling and stay safe.
Miss Hughes
