Friday 7th January - Update
A great start …
It has been a very positive start to the new year and to the new term. The children have adapted well (yet again) to the new systems in place, and they are already working hard in lessons. It is lovely to see them again and they seem happy to see all their friends again after the Christmas break.
Thank you to all of you who are understanding of our Covid procedures, for wearing masks on the playground and adhering to social distancing. Hopefully, by all of us working together, we can limit any disruption to teaching and learning.
Please let school know if anyone in your household tests positive, as this will enable us to track and monitor cases in the Winshill Village community, and adapt our procedures if necessary. Many thanks for your co-operation with this.
The government this week has updated guidance regarding PCR tests.
“Confirmatory PCR tests following a positive lateral flow device (LFD) test result are to be temporarily suspended from Tuesday 11 January. This will mean that anyone who receives a positive LFD test result will be required to self-isolate immediately and will not be required to take a confirmatory PCR test.”

Stay Safe … and help keep others safe
Miss Goodson
Promise
By Jackie Kay
Remember, the time of year
when the future appears
like a blank sheet of paper
a clean calendar, a new chance.
On thick white snow
You vow fresh footprints
then watch them go
with the wind’s hearty gust.
Fill your glass. Here’s to us. Promises
made to be broken, made to last.
