Friday 5th November - Update
Thank you!
Thank you to all the parents who took part in the parent consultation meetings - either via the telephone or face to face. The response was overwhelmingly positive and I hope you were all pleased with how well your children are doing. Thank you, in particular, to those parents who attended the face to face meetings. I know it was very chilly (and dark!) waiting outside, but at least we were able to see many of you in person. The majority of schools are not holding face to face meetings this term, so I am really grateful that everyone adhered to the rules, and that the meetings were able to go ahead.
At this moment in time, we are planning to be holding Christmas Performances (albeit with additional Covid restrictions in place) but obviously this will be dependant on any cases in school closer to the time. More details about Christmas in the next couple of weeks, but please have a look at the calendar to see when we are planning to hold the performances.
As we are go into winter, please make sure your child has a coat in school. A number of children are turning up to school without a coat and they look a bit chilly by the end of the day. Many thanks for your support with this matter.
Nursery Places for January
We are currently organising sessions for our January intake in Nursery. If you would like a place for your child , please collect an admissions pack from the school office. We currently have places for 2 year olds and 3 years olds - if you would like a place (or know someone who does) please return your admission form by the end of November. We will be having another intake in April - you can collect an admissions pack for this date too.

PTA Meeting
We would like to run a Covid friendly Christmas Fair this year, to help raise some much needed funds for the school. However, for this to happen, we need your help. If you can spare an occasional hour and can offer support, please come along to the PTA meeting being held on Tuesday 9th November at 9am. Without some more help and support, unfortunately we may have to cancel the Christmas Fair and its associated activities.

Dear Miss Goodson and all at Winshill Village Primary School
Re: Foodbank donation
On behalf of our Trustees, Staff, Volunteers and residents at Burton upon Trent & District YMCA, I would like to say a huge thank you for your kind and generous donation to help support our foodbank. Your donation comes at a time when the global pandemic has affected many people in our local Community.
The demand for our foodbank service is the highest it has ever been in the 19 year history of providing this service. We are seeing many new people accessing this for the first time and it is a lifeline for everyone in need. Our three housing projects continue to be operational and we are providing daily support to all 71 of our clients who live on site.
As you can imagine, this has been a very anxious time for them too, particularly some of our younger clients. Thank you once again for your kindness and generosity and for helping your community.
Yours sincerely Julia Davies-Ratcliffe Food Bank Coordinator
Stay safe .. and help keep others safe
