Friday 10th September - Update
What a great start to the year!
I am very proud of the children - what a great start to the new school year - they have all come in and knuckled down to their work and have adapted brilliantly to the new school routines. Our new children in Reception have already shown great independence and it is lovely to see them blossoming in their new surroundings.
There are a number of exciting activities coming up soon, where we hope to get parents involved. When parents come into school there will be strict Covid protocols to follow, these are designed to keep us all safe, but also to enable us to get parents more involved in school. Some activities may take a different format to normal and I will keep you up to date via this blog, every Friday. We appreciate your support with this matter.
Please see below for some photos of Year 3 children, working hard in their Maths lessons.
Clubs
Clubs start from Monday. You should have received a letter outlining which clubs are taking place, more information can be found in the clubs section on the website. If your child has got a place, then you will receive a text this afternoon. If your child has a place, then they will be expected to attend club every week until half term. If your child is unable to attend the club, please inform school.
Meet the Teacher
On Tuesday we will be holding “Meet the Teacher” sessions. This is NOT Parents Evening, which will be held later in the term. “Meet the Teacher” is an opportunity to introduce yourself to your child’s new teacher (if you have not met them before) and view the child’s classroom. An opportunity to discuss your child’s progress will be available later in the term, please note that this is not a 1:1 session. If you have any concerns about your child, please contact school and a separate appointment can be made.
To help keep everyone as safe as possible, there are certain requirements that will be put in place for the evening.
Only one adult per child can attend
Your temperature will be checked on arrival
Masks should be worn by all adults
Your details will be forwarded to test and trace if necessary
We kindly request that you complete a lateral flow test before attending
Please maintain social distancing where possible.
To reduce the amount of adults in school at any one point, we are going to ask parents to sign up for a specific slot.
You can choose one of the following slots: 3:30 - 3:45; 3:45 - 4:00; 4:00 - 4:15 or 4:15 - 4:30.
Please contact the school office to let them know which slot you would like.
Entry will be via the school office door and you will be exit via one of the “back doors”.
Many thanks for your support in this matter.
Headteacher’s Meeting
I will be holding a parents meeting in the hall at 2:30pm on Thursday (16th September). In this meeting, I will give outline of the school priorities for this academic year and answering any questions you may have. There will be Covid processes in place; please see the section above for what will be in place.
If you would like to attend, please let the school office know by Wednesday 15th September.
Year 4 Swimming
Year 4 start swimming on Thursday (16th September) , you should have received a letter outlining what the children will need every Thursday. Swimming is part of the National Curriculum and is therefore compulsory. If you have any questions regarding swimming, please do not hesitate to get in contact.
Thanks for continuing to think others and helping keeping us all safe, by socially distancing and wearing a mask. (Masks should be worn when coming to the school office!)
Much appreciated.
