What a great week!

On Monday we opened our doors wider to children from Reception, Year 1 and Year 6.  Understandably, the children were a little bit anxious on arrival, but they soon got used to the new rules and routines.  They have adapted incredibly well, and the school has been full of learning and laughter this week.  It has been great to see and a relief for everybody.

Since then we have had a number of requests from parents asking if their child could return to school, I would love to say yes of course, however we have strict guidelines to follow from the government and the Trust and at the moment it is not possible to open the school to everyone.  I am hoping that in a few weeks, we may be able to invite more children in, but you may need to prepare yourself, that not all children will be able to be back to school before September.

To continue supporting those children at home, we will still upload home learning onto the school website.  It is important that you try and keep to a routine at home and keep up to date where possible with school work.   Members of staff will still contact you at home to check that everything is ok, and to answer any questions you may have regarding their school work.

We want the children at home to still feel part of the school community, so in the next couple of weeks, we are planning some Zoom group chats with their classmates who are in school.  In preparation, I would suggest that you download Zoom onto your computer, phone or tablet: (iPad / iPhone version, Android version). There will be strict protocols to follow, which we will be sending out nearer the time.

On Monday we welcome back Nursery (only those who have confirmed their place, do not just turn up) and we are looking forward to seeing them.

I will, of course,  keep you up to date with developments.

Take care of yourselves and keep safe.

Miss Goodson
