School is still open for some - Important information
School during the Coronavirus Outbreak
Dear Parents/Carers,
School is closed for the majority of pupils, however for children of keyworkers, vulnerable children and children on Free School Meals, school will remain open.
If the above applies to you, then you would have already spoken to a member of staff, and your child’s name will be on the list. If you think you qualify for a school place, but you have not spoken to a member of staff, please contact me on headteacher@winshillvillage.staffs.sch.uk.
Please do not just turn up as this will have implications on staffing, likewise if you no longer need a space, let me know via my email address.
To clarify a few points:
1) This is not school. School is closed. There will be no formal lessons, the children will be taking part in activities in a similar way to a holiday club.
2) The children DO NOT have to wear school uniform.
3) School will be open between 8am and 5pm. School staff will run the activities until 3pm. Fae Tipper from Winshill Childminding will then take over.
4) How much time your child spends in school is up to you. There is flexibility on arrival and finishing times, however if you want your child to have a dinner at lunchtime, they must arrive before 9:30am.
5) Children will be supplied with a hot meal and snacks throughout the day at no additional cost.
6) Your child will not be allowed to attend if they (or anyone in their household) have underlying medical conditions or showing any symptoms of Coronavirus.
7) School will be following the government guidelines with regards to hygiene and social distancing.
8) School will continue to be open through the Easter holidays with the exception of Good Friday and Easter Monday.
School staff will be working on a rota to reduce the risk of contamination. Staff are volunteering to help out, so please be considerate and thankful when you see them. If a significant number of staff have to self-isolate, then school reserves the right to prioritise which children can attend. Remember if there is an alternative, do not send your child to school.
I hope this is clear, but if you have any questions or queries please contact me on headteacher@winshillvillage.staffs.sch.uk
Many thanks for your continued support and take care of yourself.
