Update 18th March 2020

Dear Parents,

Further to my message on Monday and in response to the information presented by our Prime Minister this week, I offer reassurances that we are taking further measures in order to limit any non-essential gatherings.

Therefore to limit non-essential gatherings, I have made the following decisions:

  • Easter Activity Afternoons will still go ahead for the children but family members will be unable to attend.

  • Star of the Week Assemblies will still go ahead but without parents attending

  • Swimming and visits to the church have been cancelled

  • After school clubs run by school staff have been cancelled up to Easter

  • The Easter disco has been cancelled

  • The Gymnastics Showcase has been postponed to the Summer Term.

  • The Little Star Parent Workshop has been postponed to the Summer Term.

  • Easter Bingo run by the PTA has also been cancelled

  • Nursery Taster Sessions are postponed until after Easter

In addition, advice from the government is that the over 70’s, people with underlying medical conditions and pregnant women should stay away from others due to the coronavirus.   For this reason Mrs Moxon, Miss Shakles, Mrs Pearsall, Mrs Young, Mrs Allen and Miss Paterson will not be in school for a while.   Nursery will be covered by Mrs Claxton and Miss Bradley in the short term.   Please note that this is a preventative measure and no staff members are showing any symptoms of coronavirus.

Children who have long term respiratory disease such as asthma need to more stringent in following social distancing measures.  Therefore, from Monday, children with underlying medical conditions should not be in school until further notice (any siblings should still attend school).  Please contact the school if this applies to your child.

We will get through this by supporting each other calmly, please always be rest assured that school will be in touch with families with any updated information and it is easier to write to the parent body as a whole rather than lots of individual messages. If, once you have received information, you still feel unsure then please do contact us.

Thank you for your understanding and stay safe
