Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year

Well, here we are on the final day of the Autumn Term! And what a term it has been! We always work hard at Winshill Village, but the current climate, has meant that we have worked harder than ever. Your children have been a complete asset to you… showing perseverance, resilience and enthusiasm. They have made us smile, made us laugh and made us proud. The hard work has all been worthwhile, when you reflect on how far the children have progressed since September.

I think we are one of the few schools in Burton, who has not closed a bubble - who have not had a positive case within school. I think this is more down to luck than judgement, however the lengths the staff have gone to - to keep the school Covid Safe - has been impressive. This should be celebrated, and we should be grateful, that any disruption to the children’s learning has been kept to a minimum. Thank you to the whole of the Winshill Village Community for adhering to the social distancing rules, and working together to keep each other safe. The rules will continue in the new year, look out for the text reminders.

Stars of the Term - Congratulations!

Important Information regarding Positive Cases

Over the Christmas period, I ask that if you need to report a positive case of Covid-19 ( a child within school) you should email me via the school website, win-headteacher@win.jtmat.co.uk

Please let me know if one of our children tests positive, as this could have implications for other children or staff, and I will need to notify them.

This email address will only be monitored between 9am and 12pm throughout the Christmas Holiday.

Children should then all return to school on Tuesday 5th January 2021.

Children should NOT return on the 5th January if they either:

  • Developed symptoms on or after Tuesday 22nd December AND have not tested negative

  • Developed symptoms on or after Tuesday 22nd December AND are awaiting a test result

  • Have any of the these main symptoms of Covid 19: new persistent cough; fever; loss of or change of taste or smell.

In any of the above cases, please contact us on Monday 4th January via 01283 247570.

And finally….. As this is my final blog for 2020 I wanted to thank you all for your continued and never-ending support throughout this unusual year.

These have been difficult and challenging times but our school community has made this much easier than it might have been.

The children have all been amazing and have made us all incredibly proud, allowing us to enjoy their achievements and focus on something positive!

I am sure you will share our huge thanks to the staff who have worked so hard throughout the pandemic and have gone above and beyond to try and keep things as normal as possible for the children. I am sure you will agree we are very lucky to have them!

I want to wish you a very Happy, Peaceful and Healthy Christmas and New Year and I look forward to welcoming you all back in 2021.

Stay safe… and help keep others safe…
