Year 5 English Home Learning - 08/03/21 - 12/03/21
Hi Year 5,
I know this wasn’t the week we all expected, but fingers crossed we will all be back to ‘normal’ next Monday. We have just got one more week of remote learning so please keep trying your best this week and I look forward to seeing you all on Zoom on Tuesday 9th March at 11:00 am. I know some of you might have a few worries about coming back to school but I promise you, we are all going to help each other and be there for one another.
Keep working hard, keep smiling and I will ‘see’ you all on Tuesday.

Monday 8th March
During today’s English lesson, we will be matching vocabulary to images and forming sentences using words with the ul and ull spelling pattern and we will be exploring the meaning of unfamiliar vocabulary.

Friday 12th March 2021
During our English lesson today, we will be forming images and actions to help us remember definitions for particular vocabulary and exploring adverbs expressing manner.
Spelling: words originating from other countries
Starter: Can you identify which vocabulary is spelt correctly and which is spelt incorrectly?

First of all, research the meaning of the vocabulary using a dictionary or dictionary.com, then you need to come up with your own action and image to represent the vocabulary to help you remember it’s definition.
Example:
Conscious – If you are conscious it means that you are awake and aware of your surroundings.
I might draw an image of someone sat up in bed to show that they are awake and my action might be me opening my eyes.
