Year 4 Maths Home Learning - 18-01-2021 to 22-01-2021

To all of the amazing Year 4 Children. It was great to speak to some of you on the zoom call last week. I will be in touch to check in to see how are you all doing. I hope everyone is having a nice time and making the most of the current situation. Feel free to email if you have any fantastic work you would like to share. This could either be a photograph or an attached document. I look forward to seeing what you have been up to as well as the work you have produced. Please find below the online learning for this weeks Maths.

This week in Maths we are learning interpreting and presenting data. This involves learning about graphs, charts and pictograms. The oak national academy provides lessons for you to work through for this area. Click on each link to work through the videos and activities.

We are also going to have a battle of the bands competition between Year 3 and Year 4 this week. The competition will take place from Monday 18th January till Friday 22nd January. You will be able to play as part of the competition between 8am and 5pm each day. The competition will finish at midday on Friday 22nd January and the winners will be announced on both Year 3 and 4’s Maths Home Learning Blogs 25/01/21 - 29/01/21. The competition will take place on TT rockstars.

Monday

Before you access todays lesson. Can you research what the following are: Pictograms, bar charts, a key for a chart.

Also please access the following PowerPoint. As you go through the slides, there should be a speaker button once you click on the speaker button, it will play a recording of myself explaining the slide.

Tuesday

Starter- Can you write the Roman Numerals for the following numbers. 3,8, 11, 15, 20, 23,29.

Remember 1=I 5=V 10=X. Also remember the number 4 is written IV (one before five), and 9 is written IX (one before ten).

Wednesday

Starter- Can you use column subtraction to answer these questions?

Thursday

Starter- Steve has £5.00. He spends £3.20 on a ball, and £1.35 on some sweets. How much change does Steve receive?

Friday

Starter- Can you use your times table knowledge to work out the following: (Example 2 x 4 x 2= 16 . 2x4= 8. 8x2=16.)
