Reception home learning Friday 5th February 2021
Well reception, it’s Friday already! What a busy week it has been with lots of learning going on at home and at school. Check out the home learning gallery for all this week’s photos of home learning.
This week is Children's Mental Health Week. The theme this year is Express Yourself. Expressing yourself is about finding ways to share feelings, thoughts, or ideas, through creativity. This could be through art, music, writing and poetry, dance and drama, photography and film, and doing activities that make you feel good. In our blog this week, you will find some activities to support your mental health and wellbeing that allow you to express yourself. I hope you enjoy these activities - remember to send in any pictures so I can see what you have been doing and share them in our class gallery.
Well being:
Choose some of the well being activities ( or screen break activities) that sound good fun, or think of something different that you would like to do.
Phonics:
Look at this set of words and sound them out.
Our new sound is or check it out on the bbc bitesize page. You can join in with the activities too.
Can you segment (chop up) the sounds in these words? Maybe write them down on a phoneme frame, remember they all have the or sound in them.
Read these words with the or sound in them. How many can you read in 1 minute?
Find and copy the word to match the picture.

Create a rhyming words poster for words in the 3 little pigs story. You could think of words to rhyme with pig, stick, pot, run, chin.
