Reception home learning Friday 29th January 2021

Well it has been a very busy week, but welcome to Friday’s home learning! ! I hope you are all doing well and keeping safe. Make sure you are looking after each other and talking to each other if you have any worries. I think the story below is a lovely one to share with your children. Have a lovely weekend and don’t forget to look out for all the examples of work on our home learning gallery.

Phonics:

  • Look at these words. Can you read any of them without sounding them out? (Recognising and reading the word in the same way they do for tricky words.) How many can you read in one minute?

  • Listen to the oa sound on bbc bitesize. and join in with the activities.

  • Practise making oa words using a phoneme frame and letter sound cards. Can you make the word for each of these pictures?

  • Can you say a caption for this picture and then write it down? There are 2 words with oa in them you could use!

Literacy:

  • Make a set of these yes/no questions, either print them out or write them on pieces of card. Sort the cards into a yes pile and a no pile.

Maths:

Here is our Maths Key Vocabulary Glossary for Reception. This can also be found on our Class Page under the Maths Heading. The glossary will outline the key vocabulary we use in our year group as well as providing a definition and example for each

  • Complete this drawing of an ambulance.

Physical development:

  • Join in with Joe Wicks for his Friday morning workout!

  • Or try a cosmic kids brain break for 5 minutes.
