Aldi Taste Kitchen Challenge

Aldi have set up a competition called ‘Aldi Taste Kitchen Challenge’. The taste kitchen challenge is where children need to design and produce their own recipe, which is to be inspired by Team GB. The competition is split into 3 different age categories: 5-7, 7-11 and 11-14.The children can take part in this challenge from home. I will outline all the details below if you are interested in taking part.

Entering the competition

  • The recipes need to include at least two fruits or vegetables

  • Entries must include a list of ingredients; instructions; a description for the recipe; and a short paragraph outlining how they recipe is inspired by Team GB

  • Entrants must also include a photo of their finished dish

Winners and Prizes

  • If you win, you will receive a Team GB goody bag; £50 in Aldi vouchers; a certificate; and your recipe will join Aldi’s collection of Taste Kitchen Recipes (which can be found on their website)

  • If someone wins from our school, the school itself will receive £200 in Aldi vouchers and a bag of fresh produce

  • The overall winner of the whole competition will receive a piece of Team GB Tokyo 2020 signed merchandise and have their recipe featured in the Aldi leaflet

Here are some examples of other Taste Kitchen recipes to help inspire you.

To submit your entry, you will need to email your photo of your completed dish, your cover sheet and your recipe sheet to info@getseateatfresh.co.uk. The deadline is Friday 12th February 2021.

The cover sheet is where you will submit your details and the recipe sheet is where you will record your list of ingredients; instructions; a description for the recipe; and a short paragraph outlining how the recipe is inspired by Team GB. All this information can be found on the Get Set to Eat Fresh with Aldi website.

On the website it says to ask your parents or teachers to submit your entry, however if you are choosing to include your child’s face in the photo of their completed dish, we politely ask that you submit your child’s entry as we are unable to send images with the children’s faces in for data protection reasons.

I have also included a powerpoint ,which gives the children ideas to support them with the planning of their recipe and outlines the expectations if they decide to take part.

Here is an overview of all the information listed above.
