Year 5 Home Learning - Week beginning 22-06-20 and 29-06-20
Hello to my amazing Year 5 class. I hope you are all okay. It has been lovely to speak to some of you on the phone over the past couple of weeks and it has been lovely receiving messages from some of you. I know a lot of people I have spoken to recently are struggling to find the motivation to keep working from home and keep up with the learning being posted online. I know everything is very unusual at the moment but things will get better. Even if you only do one of the learning challenges I post a week, it will support you for when you return to school. I think you have all dealt with everything that is going on at the moment extremely well and I am incredibly proud of each and every one of you. You should be really proud of yourselves. Remember, stay positive and keep smiling.
Below are your home learning challenges for the next 2 weeks. There are a range of activities to choose from. Remember that these tasks are optional, however it would really benefit you to complete some of the challenges. There are also a range of websites listed on the Year 5 class page which are uploading weekly home learning activities. Remember to keep sending photos of the fantastic work you are doing at home to our Homelearning Showcase. You can also send me a message to let me know what you have been getting up to, share any worries you may have or to ask any questions. Charlie, thank you for your message. It is great to hear you have been talking to your friends and doing some work. Hopefully we will all get to see each other soon. Kaden, your space project looks fantastic! Well done.
We have also started a school podcast called ‘No Limits’ . This will be released every Monday. If the children want to record a shout out to a friend, a joke or a song, they can send it to the email address listed on the page for the chance to be featured in the podcast. Instructions on how to record on different devices and how to email the recordings, are listed on the page.

Health and Wellbeing challenge
For your health and wellbeing challenge this week, I would like you to think about being positive. I want you to have a think about what the word ‘positivity’ means to you and then represent that. You might decide to draw a picture of something that you feel is positive, you might decide to find a positive quote online and write it down. You might list the things that help you to feel positive or list achievements that you have accomplished which made you feel positive. It is up to you how you represent what the word ‘positivity’ means to you.
Stay safe, stay positive and keep smiling.
