Year 5 Home Learning - Week Beginning 25-05-20 and 01-06-20
Hello to my amazing Year 5 class. I hope you are well and have been enjoying the sunshine! It has been lovely speaking to some of you over the past couple of weeks and it’s great to hear that you are all well. I have seen some more fantastic home learning on the Homelearning Showcase this week. It makes me smile when I see all the brilliant things you have been getting up to. Jenna, your tent was amazing! It’s great that is also provided some shade for the rabbits! You should be really proud of yourself, well done.
It has also been lovely to receive messages from some of you. Bear, I would just like to say happy birthday for last week, I hope you had the best day possible. Your message was very kind, thank you. Isla, your message made me smile and really made my day. Thank you so much. Jenna, thank you for your lovely message, I am okay thank you for asking. Calleigh, thank you for your lovely card and I am so impressed that you made it yourself! I would also like to say thank you to parents that have also sent me some lovely messages this week, it means a lot. Remember, you can send me a message through the school website to share any questions or worries you may have or just to let me know what you have been up to.
RAF Poster Competition
I received an email this week from the RAF Museum in Cosford. They are running a poster competition this May half term so I thought I would upload the details in case any of you would like to take part. There are three different age categories: under 10’s, 10-18 and 18 and over. They will announce a winner and runner up for each category. Below is an image outlining all the information you need and click below for the link to their website for planning ideas and support with the competition.
I have uploaded the final chapter of Journey to the Centre of the Earth this week! You can access the reading by going directly to our Reading and Storytime page or by going to our Youtube Channel. As we have now finished Journey to the Centre of the Earth, we need something new to read. I am going to post 3 different options and I would like you to message me telling me which book you would like us to read. The book with the most votes wins! Here are your three choices:
The Chronicles of Narnia, the Lion, the Witch and the Wardrobe
The Famous Five - Five on a Secret Trail
Diary of a Wimpy Kid - The Meltdown
I received some messages last week asking for more support with questions involving decimals. Below are a couple more examples of missing number problems involving decimals.

Remember, you need to make a note of what you can see, smell, hear, taste and touch. You could represent each of the senses using a different colour. There is an example below if you would like some support.
