Step Up to the Plate

My name is Dami and I’m writing from a London based TV Production Company called Lion TV, creators of BAFTA winning shows like Horrible Histories, Plays your Pets Right and smash hit new CBBC competition series, Step Up to the Plate.

We are now looking for boys and girls, in school years 5 – 9, with either a passion for cooking or the personality for serving. Similar to season 1, the Restaurant Crew will be working on the restaurant floor, learning how to become mini Maitre D’s from Fred. Allegra will appraise the menus the Kitchen Crews create and instructing them on how to cook to a professional standard for real customers

Following the success of the first series of Step Up to the Plate we are looking for the next contestants for season 2. First Date’s Fred Sirieix and Junior Bake Off judge and notable chef, Allegra McEvedy, return as our mentors and judges – and they’re excited to make this season even bigger and bolder than the last.

We think this is a great opportunity for those aspiring to work in the restaurant and service industries, so if you do have any Years 5-9 in mind, please do forward them the flyer and application form so they can be in touch via their parent/guardian.  Please also pass on my details to parent/guardian and teachers, if anyone has questions.

Last season, we received thousands of applications, so we do advise that the sooner students apply the better their chances. Students will need permission from their parent/guardian to apply.
