Year 5 Topic Home Learning - 18/01/21 - 22/01/21

Hello to my amazing Year 5 Class.

I hope you are all okay. It is very quiet in the classroom without you, but seeing some of you on Zoom last week really cheered me up! I loved hearing all your stories about what you had been up to over the Christmas holidays and how hard you are all working at home with the tasks I have set you. Have you taken a look at our Year 5 Learning Gallery? You will see all of the fabulous work that you and all of your class mates have been doing.

This week there are three separate blogs: Year 5 English, Year 5 Maths and Year 5 Topic. The learning is broken down into individual days so that you are doing exactly the same work as the children who are with me in school.

I can’t wait to see this week’s work, so please remember that you must send me at least one piece of work you have completed. You can find my email address on our Year 5 Class Page so please ask an adult to help you do this.

Can I take this opportunity to say how proud I am of every single one of you. It has been a very strange time for us all this week but you have all coped amazingly with the changes, showing me how mature you all are. Year 5 are superstars! Keep working hard and I look forward to speaking to you all this week. Seeing your work always makes me smile.

Just as a reminder, please find below Winshill’s remote learning expectations:

  • It is expected that our children will access 3 hours of remote learning every week day whilst learning at home.

  • New learning blogs will be uploaded every Friday.

  • Children should be submitting photos of their work to their teacher at least once a week and feedback will be given.

  • There will be regular contact between school and the children through phone calls and zoom so that the children will be able to talk about their learning and we will be able to provide feedback.

  • There will be a contact button direct to the teacher to answer any questions and to send pictures of your work (which can then be placed in our Learning Gallery).

On the activity card, it asks you how many times you can you repeat the circuit, I will be extremely impressed if anyone can complete it more than 3 times.
