I hope everyone enjoyed their break as much as possible. I am really pleased with the work that I have received off many of you. keep up the fabulous work, and please send me at least one piece of work for me to look at this week.
Here are this weeks topic lessons.
Monday- Science
Over the last few weeks we have been looking at how light works. Last week you learnt about how shadows are formed and looked at objects which were transparent, translucent, and opaque. Opaque objects do not allow light to travel through them. Opaque objects form shadows.
Here is a video, please watch the video up to 3 minutes and 30 seconds (210 seconds). I am aware the video talks about year 3, however the video will still develop our understanding
Once you have watched the video. Todays science lesson is a practical lesson.
I would like you to find a shadow. Once you have found a shadow, I would like you to take a photo of the shadow using a device, if not draw the shadow.
Then, every hour for 3 hours, I would like you to go back to the same shadow and repeat. Either take a photo or draw the shadow.
Each time you look at the shadow, consider if the position of the shadow has changed. I would like you to also consider the position of the sun, is the sun in the same place? Is there anything blocking the sun which will cast a shadow over your village such as clouds?
Write down your observations.
If the weather is not suitable, or it is difficult to find a shadow to observe. This can be created indoors. In a dark room, all you need is an tall opaque object and a torch.
In the dark room, I would like you to shine the torch on the opaque object and look at the shadow. Then move the torch (light source) to a different position and observe how the shadow changes.
Write down your observations.

I would like you to Be Creative.
This an opportunity to make, design, draw anything which you choose.
Here are some possible ideas:
You may decide to use the salt dough recipe which can be found on previous blogs, and create an object such as a plate or a mug. Which when dry, you could paint over. You may also decide to make food, or do some baking. You could design a game, or even make a game. You could create a quiz to share with members of your household or friends virtually. Whatever you decide to do, remember to embrace being creative. Please send me some of work which you create.
