Reception home learning Monday 22nd February
Welcome back! I hope you are all well and have had a good rest during half term. Hopefully we will all be back together again very soon. I am really pleased that so many of you are trying to do some of the home learning, it will make it much easier for us all when we come back together if we have been doing the same learning at home as in school.
Our topic this week is a continuation of our learning about traditional stories as we will be having a focus on ‘Little Red Riding Hood'.’
Phonics:
Literacy:
Use the story video of the Little red riding hood with the volume off to re-tell the story by yourself.
Maths:
Monday’s maths lesson with Oak National Academy on number to 15 .
Set up a play picnic with 2 teddies or other favourite toys. Collect together a set of objects that can be shared between the two toys. (pasta, cubes, pompoms, play food etc) Share 10 items between the two toys, how many each? How could you record this? Repeat this process by sharing 4,6, and 8 objects. You could challenge yourself to share 12, 14, 16, 18 or even 20 items between the two toys and record your answers. You could show your answers something like this.
Topic:
Make your own little basket for Little Red Riding Hood to carry food to Grandma. You can make it however you like; maybe using old cereal boxes or a margarine tub. How would you choose to decorate it?
Can you use any blocks you have at home to create a maze for Little Red Riding Hood to go through? You could add in any play figures to be the different characters in the story. Use it to re-tell the story.
Physical Development:
Join in with Little red riding hood yoga.
