Early Birds Breakfast Club

At Winshill Village, we are delighted to offer our ‘Early Birds’ Breakfast Club as part of our wrap-around care.

The club runs from 7:30am – 8:45am (term time only) and provides children with a safe, calm and welcoming start to their day. Each morning, children enjoy a healthy breakfast – with options such as toast, cereal, fruit and drinks – before joining in with a range of purposeful activities designed to support their learning and interests.

The club is open to all pupils from Nursery to Year 6 and is led by our experienced school staff.

Start of the School Day

At Winshill Village, our school day begins at 8:45am when doors open to welcome children into school.

Reception children use their classroom door from the Reception playground, which is accessed via the path on the main playground, so they can meet the Reception team and pass on any messages. 

Years 1–6 enter via the main red door on the playground where they are greeted by a member of the Senior Leadership Team.

Doors close at 9:00am, and children arriving after this time should be brought to the main entrance for access.

Please note that there is no supervision on the playground before 8:45am, and children should not play with the OPAL equipment or playground equipment during this time.

Nursery children start at 9:00am and enter through the Nursery building.

All school gates will be locked at 9.05am.

End of the School Day

At the end of the school day, children are collected from their designated doors and playgrounds.

• Nursery children finish at 3:00pm and are collected from the Nursery building.
• Reception children finish at 3:15pm and are collected from their classroom door on the Reception playground, giving parents and carers the opportunity to meet the Reception team and receive any messages.
• Year 1 children finish at 3:15pm and leave through the red door nearest the playground.
• Year 2 children finish at 3:15pm and leave through the main red door nearest the field.
• Year 3 children finish at 3:20pm and are dismissed through the red door nearest the playground.
• Year 4 children finish at 3:20pm through the main red door nearest the field.
• Year 5 and Year 6 children finish at 3:20pm and are collected from the red door next to their classrooms.

The school gates will open at 3:10pm. For safety reasons, please do not arrive on site before this time.

Children will only be dismissed to a known adult unless prior agreement has been given.

Children in Upper Key Stage 2 may walk home unaccompanied, but only with written parental permission.

Pupils attending After School Club or taking part in an extra-curricular activity will be sent or escorted directly to their club.

If you need to collect your child before the end of the school day, this must be done via the main school office.

 Wraparound Provision

We are pleased to offer an After School Club, run by Winshill Child Care, every weekday during term time from 3:20pm to 6:00pm. The club is exclusively for Winshill Village pupils and provides a safe, welcoming and nurturing environment at the end of the school day. Children can take part in a wide variety of enjoyable activities such as arts and crafts, baking, games, film nights, and both indoor and outdoor play.
